Symptoms

When attempting to enter search criteria, the Replace With field is disabled.

Cause

This behavior is by design. SPEED Ferret 4.0 provides five types of search operations, including Find, Replace, Multiple Find, Multiple Replace, and Enumerate. The Replace With field is only needed for a Replace operation, so it is disabled when the Operation field is not set to Replace.

Solution

In the Operation field, located at the top of the Search window, select Replace.
