Basic System Requirements
- 133 MHz or faster processor
- Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, or Windows XP
- 64 MB of RAM (128 MB recommended when searching multiple and/or large Access databases)
- 15 MB of available hard disk space
- Video card displaying at least 800x600 pixels desktop area
Additional Software Requirements
Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher is required in order to view online help topics.
Depending upon the types of projects you need to search, you may require additional software that is not supplied with SPEED Ferret.

Note: The SPEED Ferret SQL Server drivers make use of ODBC. Each time a driver is started it checks to see whether ODBC 3.0 or above is present on your system. ODBC is always present on Windows 2000 systems. ODBC is also installed by many Microsoft products, such as SQL Server Client Tools, Microsoft Access, Excel, Visual Basic.
If you are using Windows 2000, you will automatically have ODBC 3.0 or above. If you have already installed any of the above products, you will probably not need to install ODBC. If SPEED Ferret informs you that ODBC 3.0 is not present on your system, then you will need to install it.
Microsoft does not supply ODBC as a standalone component. ODBC is only distributed as part of the Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) library. A free copy of MDAC may be obtained from Microsoft's MDAC web site.
